Proxima Vara is a variable version of the Proxima Nova type family. In a single font file, it contains all the weights and styles of Proxima Nova—plus any style between them along any of three dimensions (weight, width, and slant) without the distortion that comes with artificial manipulation such as squeezing, stretching, or slanting. If you want something that’s a little bolder than Regular, and little bit more condensed, you can get it.

Proxima Vara contains all of the characters and features in Proxima Nova such as alternate characters, true small caps, old style figures, arbitrary fractions, and support for most Latin-based languages, Greek, and Cyrillic.

Variable fonts work in modern web browsers, which is great because it allows you to use many more styles of Proxima Vara on a web page than you can with Proxima Nova. The complete family is contained in a single font file, so loads as quickly as about four styles of Proxima Nova. And, of course, you can use subsetting for even faster page loads.

For print applications, Proxima Vara gives you unlimited flexibility to tune weight, width, and slant to fit your exact needs.

Important: Variable font technology is fairly new. While it works great in all the major web browsers, it is not fully supported in many desktop apps yet. Support in desktop apps include Sketch, Corel Draw, and Adobe Creative Cloud apps such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. It has partial support in Apple iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, and Numbers). Unfortunately, Microsoft Office doesn’t support variable fonts at all yet, although support is promised. Support for variable fonts will increase over time, but please check whether the apps you want to use offer support before buying. “Chalkís” or “Chalkida” was the capital of the Euboea island in old Greece.
The name derived from the Greek and it means copper - bronze.
Colonist from this area founded several important cities in the Magna Graecia, such as Cumae (coastal area of Southern Italy), where our alphabet come from.
At the beginning, first scribes draw the signs in mono-line, but later on, the influence of materials, tools and the skill of calligraphers, developed the refinement of the lettering.
“Calcis” is a family of sans serif fonts, characterized by its austere, functional and clear style, emerged from straight lines and primary shapes; but enriched by the contribution of countless anonymous calligraphers who have polished and embellished their forms over the years.
“Calcis” is presented in five weights and italic style. It has good legibility in small sizes, elegance and strong visual impact in headlines as well.
Each font of the family contain 377 glyphs with accurate kerning pairs careful controlled, and advanced typographical support with OpenType features such as: old style numerals, ligatures, discretional ligatures and case-sensitive forms. It also contain diacritics for Central European languages.

There really is no nonsense in this font - but the name comes from my original sketches, where I drew a lot of nonsense! Actually, I couldn’t figure out what letters to use from the sketches, so I picked them all!!!
That’s why each letter has 10 different versions! And what is cool is that they automatically cycles as you type. All you have to do is turn on Contextual Alternates, and the rest is magic!

Planc has emerged as an approach to reconsider the grotesque font anatomy in a contemporary way. It is a new grotesque family with its subtle touches of details.
